Democracy 3.0
Lately (sarcasm, it was june 9th or so) we have voted for our new Leaders of The Netherlands. After a long debate, discussing and more debate they have decided upon nothing. The wise men (and women) have forgotten what democracy is all about, the voice of the people. I hear noone in my surroundings who will have faith in the upcoming agreement, if any. The amount of people involved is way too many, and if you cannot even decide who to work with for only 4 years, how can you make long-term decisions for the country?
So I think it is time to start my version of democracy, democracy 3.0.
Basically it is like this: You vote for me, to get some people in parliament. After that I am grateful but will not stop listening to you (and others too) or play political games that you have never asked for. Fair, open and simple are the keywords in my proposal. Why this is different?
It is like 1 big continuous online referendum. Upon the moment of voting in parliament you will be able to vote for a statement in your own account; online, mobile, whatever works for you. All people, including those who have not voted for this party, will be able to let this party be the voice of the people by voting for each and every discussion. If you don’t care, you don’t vote for that one statement at all, be free. The winning statement will be voted upon my all our party-member in the parliament. Simple as that.
You say Yes, and most others say Yes too? We vote yes, no matter what our personal opinions are. No surprises, no backdoor politics, just plain and simple democracy 3.0
Why work like this? You might change your view on the situation during the discussion, or the party you have voted for is now considering working with another one you hate (giving up the principles you voted for). We will always take your latest opinion as leading, not the one from 3 years ago.
So…. democracy 3.0, what do you think?
Two days further
No surprises from the side where I would have expected them (see last post). Nothing, not a person telling rules, no guidelines, no new org-charts, nothing! I decided to work like I did before and not let things slide these last weeks, keep positive although it are the last weeks. If there is no plan, I’ll make my own.
So I just scouted for some interesting requests, and actually found so much I can call myself a busy girl this week!
By the way, this morning I’ve sent emails around to some clients that my leave is nearing. It is kind of emotional to keep informing people that you loved working with that you’re leaving. And I know that in the eyes of Philips everyone is replaceable but I would like to think different of my clients, hoping they do the same about me.
For the first in a long time have been coding HTML/CSS in Notepad++ again from nothing (I really hate dreamweaver and such as that is not a skill, that is a trick). It was a thrill finding out that the knowledge is still present somewhere there in that brain of mine.
Tomorrow morning I’ll have a job interview, far from my home. That might mean we (Kees, the cat and myself) need to move, but let’s first see if they like me at all, before drawing any conclusions.
The day after another job interview in Eindhoven, and perhaps finally some news on a job I had applied for a long time ago (more than 2 weeks).
All in all, hectic in the job department, but hopefully my new challenge and inspirational future will come out of it!
