So I think it is time to start my version of democracy, democracy 3.0.

Basically it is like this: You vote for me, to get some people in parliament. After that I am grateful but will not stop listening to you (and others too) or play political games that you have never asked for. Fair, open and simple are the keywords in my proposal. Why this is different?

It is like 1 big continuous online referendum. Upon the moment of voting in parliament you will be able to vote for a statement in your own account; online, mobile, whatever works for you. All people, including those who have not voted for this party, will be able to let this party be the voice of the people by voting for each and every discussion. If you don’t care, you don’t vote for that one statement at all, be free. The winning statement will be voted upon my all our party-member in the parliament. Simple as that.

You say Yes, and most others say Yes too? We vote yes, no matter what our personal opinions are. No surprises, no backdoor politics, just plain and simple democracy 3.0

Why work like this? You might change your view on the situation during the discussion, or the party you have voted for is now considering working with another one you hate (giving up the principles you voted for). We will always take your latest opinion as leading, not the one from 3 years ago.

So…. democracy 3.0, what do you think?

Being positive, active, knowledgable or funny has always been a good way to make people like you. In Social Media this is no different. The Ecommerce blogs like Mashable or Dutchbowboys are being the top in the range of knowledge and being cool in the i-world. They are the newsletters and reporters of the new world.

Then you have the bloggers with thousands of followers who, sometimes for no reason, are seen as important or interesting for all those people. They often do not follow these people back, or do so on paper but don’t actually read their posts unless they are mentioned.

And then there is the rest, the people who follow all these bloggers or reporters and share some of their own ideas with the world. They often are active in Social Media because everyone was active in it around them. But what can they say to their average of 130 followers?

Nothing real, because they are not funny or happy at all times. They have their doubts because they are human, and they have their negative views on the real world around them. But how much of these updates are really ending up on the Social Media? Almost none, because nobody wants to read that, right?

So their updates are shallow, well-thought through and often stopping at a point in their live where they see no added value to the effort, since they cannot be sincere anyway, so why bother?

Therefore I have the feeling that this Social Media hype will either die a silent death in 4 years, or will survive because people accept to be shallow in all their outings to the world. The last will feel for me as if the shallow-flu from America has flown over to Europe, settled and will never let go.

Conclusion, if I had an iPhone I would be able to do a lot of things, wouldn’t I?

Anyway, today we went shopping for our anniversary/wedding rings, and ordered them at Ernstes Design. Catalog photo
Hope we will still be happy with them in a few years. But hey, at least we like them very much now!

So here I am in hotel Strand, walking distance from the city center. But I’m afraid I will see more of the inside of my book, than the shop. Given that those will be closed by the time my day at the office would have ended.

Hope they will discuss the It project roadmap, known bugs and fixes and ofcourse way of working with their IT department in the upcoming 3 days.

I had a nice job interview about 1,5 weeks ago at Novasol, and they wanted to speak to me again last week. All in all very good news instead, apparently they liked me.
So while I was getting nervous for the meeting the day after Kees just popped The Question! Yes but ofcourse I want to marry you!

The next day, during my job interview, I thought I could not get any happier. And surprise, surprise I got the job as well!

Now I had a steady job again, in a very nice company with nice people in Online Marketing and with room for personal development.

When Lady Lucks hits you she can hit pretty hard!

I do get really good in being patient this way.
Waiting for phone calls, emails, meetings, basically waiting for people being interested to meet me and see if I would their profile.

Yes I know social media madam, yes I have experience with flash sir, yes indeed I have been learning a lot during my two years at Philips.

Telling my story time and time again. I do try to make it different each and every time. Which does cause me to loose my words sometimes, but also does it give me an opportunity to look back at what I have done and what I should be doing in the future.

In the mean time I read Twitter, Facebook, find new job openings and wait patiently until the next meeting is announced.

Negative:
- Lost very good collegues
- Lost nice clients
- My daily rhythm is gone
- Loss of income
- Need to apply for jobs (selling myself is not my strongest point)

Conclusion: Need to find myself a new project with people who are willing to work hard for the good of the company. Motivation, creativity and professionalism is key.
